Composite bollards

The combination of castings and steel in this range permits a great diversity in size and strength whilst retaining style elements from some of our cast bollards. The composite method of manufacture allows a greater degree of flexibility of design. These bollards can be customised by moving or adding features such as extra rings or introducing height changes to the standard shown.
All composite bollards are available in three standard heights: 750, 900 and 1100mm. The standard root depth is 300mm but this can be varied to suit ground conditions.
All steel is fully galvanised to BS729 prior to the application of primer paint or two pack epoxy acrylic top coat. Bollards may be customised by the use of logos, crests or wording in order to incorporate features such as parking restrictions and other small information plaques. Reflective tape may be added to bollards to give high visibility in vehicle headlights.

Types 1501 – 1503 are budget bollards and are available at extremely competitive rates. All have a body diameter of 114mm and are available in heights of 750, 900 and 1100mm. Root depth is 300mm. We can supply with or without the loose fitting cover plate type 1550.

Rooted bollard installation details

Bollards should always be securely fixed in 3:2:1 concrete mix, sulphate resisting if necessary. Certain sites, (dependant upon location) may require a quick setting concrete to be used.
Extended roots are recommended for bollards where paving and bedding material take up more than a third of the standard 300mm bollard root length.
Ensure that concrete fill is allowed to fall within the root window (where provided), this will anchor the bollard more securely.
No product must ever be rolled or dropped during site installation. We recommend that individual packaging material is left in place as long as possible during the installation process to minimise the potential damage.
Great care is needed when installing finished painted products. Given the weight of most designs, paint damage most often occurs during installation. Touch up paint is available (at a cost), call our Sales office for further information.
